February 1, 1933 - Rural School Removal on the Horizon

Page 6 of the February 1, 1933 issue of The True Republican published a commentary by tax efficiency expert, H.S. Hicks.    The article revealed a proposal to reduce the number of rural schools in the state of Illinois from 9,691 to 5,772; it would be only a matter of time before the Browne school and the rest of the 9 rural schools in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois would close.
