Marcella F Walter was born in Lee county, Illinois on April 14, 1906 to Emma M (Gallisah) and Charles William Walter. In 1910, Marcella was living (lines 53 - 57) in Viola township, Lee county, Illinois with her parents and siblings, Clarence and Bertha.
The 1920 US Census lists Marcella living (lines 81 - 86) living with her parents Emma and Charles and siblings, Clarence, Bertha and Raymond in Viola township, Lee county, Illinois.
On December 27, 1927 Marcella F Walter married Henry Rawson Mace. I have seen DeKalb, Illinois as the place of marriage on a family tree, however there were no corroborating documents to confirm the date or place.
On page 7 of the April 26, 1929 edition of The DeKalb Daily Chronicle announcing that a basket social took place the previous day at the Browne school.
The 1930 US Census lists Marcella (Walter) Mace living (lines 41 - 42) with her husband in Malta township, DeKalb county, Illinois.
The census lists Marcella employed as a rural school teacher.
On the front page of the November 22, 1930 edition of The DeKalb Daily Chronicle, Marcella (Walter) Mace was mentioned as taking part in a merchant window decorating contest by rural school children. Marcella was teaching at the Malta district #62 rural school. Marcella had completed her teaching assignment at the Browne school the previous May or June 1930.
In 1940, Marcella (Walter) Mace was living (lines 34 - 36) with her husband, Henry and their son George in DeKalb township, DeKalb county, Illinois. Marcella is listed as being employed as a rural grade school teacher.
Sometime after the census was taken on April 20, 1940 and prior to February 25, 1946, Marcella and Henry divorced. Marcella married Frank Maier on February 25, 1946 in Cook county, Illinois.
Marcella (Walter) Mace Maier passed away December 25, 1978 in Rockford, Winnebago county, Illinois. Her memorial can be viewed here.
