The Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois financial statement appeared in The Shabbona Express on their July 15, 1920 issue on page 4. This report provides insight regarding the income and expenses the township incurred from July 1, 1919 - June 30, 1920, much of which is school related. It does not break down the costs related to each of the rural schools in Milan township; expenses related to the Browne school might have been 1/9th of the totals.
