July 2, 1918 - WW I Savings Stamps

A the war in Europe raged on, the DeKalb county rural schools helped raise money for the effort.     As reported on page 1 of the July 2, 1918 issue of The DeKalb Daily Chronicle, the Browne school raised $1,800 for the effort.

This is the first time I've seen district #80 used for the Browne school, indicating the Milan School District was folded into the DeKalb County School District.   We can now narrow down the window for the Browne school known as the Milan Township District #1 to DeKalb County School District #80.   This would have occurred sometimes after September 14, 1912 and prior to July 2, 1918.
